One of the biggest criticisms that creative, digital and PR agencies get thrown at them is that they are a bit rubbish at promoting themselves.
On the face of it, it seems odd that most supposed experts in the industry do such a shoddy job at marketing their own companies, whilst preaching its importance to everyone else.
Of course, there’s a simple reason for it, in most cases, and that comes down to time and resource. Most agencies don’t have the time nor inclination to worry about content marketing and PR for their company when they have clients to keep happy.
It’s a tremendous own goal for any company to neglect marketing and PR efforts though, and it looks incredibly unprofessional. As the saying goes, the cobbler’s children have no shoes, but no company should let its metaphorical children run about barefoot.
How did we end up talking about shoeless children?
Anyway, the point is, we at Juggling Swords won’t be going down the route of not promoting ourselves. We want to keep clients – past, present and future – up to date with what we’re doing, how we’re doing it and where we’re going as a business. We want to give sound advice and be at the heart of the industry always.
We have an exciting wee nugget of news for you today, actually. This morning we learned that Juggling Swords has been shortlisted for the Entrepreneurial Spark Accelerator program! We have to deliver a 60-second pitch to a group of business leaders on Wednesday. If we’re successful, we’ll then join the Edinburgh program for the next five months and get business support from the likes of Sir Willie Haughey.
It’s an awesome opportunity for a young company like Juggling Swords and we intend to grab it with both hands.
